I’m not sure why this story would be of interest here. This person committed a second offense 16 years later for the rape of a minor and was found to currently be in a Mexican prison serving a 18-year sentence. I feel no sympathy in this case. Most everyone deserves a second chance. He got his second chance and screwed up again. I don’t think he needs a third chance by being allowed back into the U.S. And I seriously doubt a Mexican prison offers him any therapy or rehabilitation services.
Hey, they get to leave the country now – we are stuck here.
This is a really nasty political endeavor It took 20 years to find? 10 years past the statute of limitations for an error / omission / lie on his application. That judge had to get creative to make his ruling happen. I do not know what it is, but something sounds really wrong with that effort.
it just shows how biased judges really are. I feel very little sympathy for the guy but these judges seem to feel that it is their job to find anyway possible to apply the law to convict or assist the DA or legislators in determining what laws will work to get a conviction…its as though they are an extension of the the legislative branch and the DA doesn’t even have to work or know what laws apply because the judges will figure out ways to apply the law to get a conviction that sticks
Works for me.
